This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

Extremely critical and very dangerous fire weather conditions are
expected today across far eastern Colorado as south to southwest
winds gust to 60 mph with relative humidity falling to around 10
percent. Outdoor burning should be avoided!

A High Wind Warning is in effect for the entire Tri-State area.
South to southwest winds gusting to 60 mph will be possible today
through early this evening. The strong and sudden wind gusts could
produce some blowing dust and reduced visibilities, especially across
open fields recently plowed the past several days.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...

Severe thunderstorms are possible late Monday afternoon and evening
along and north of a line from Phillipsburg to Quinter to Mingo and
McDonald. All modes of severe weather will be possible including
large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.

Elevated fire weather conditions will be possible across far eastern
Colorado next weekend.

THIS MORNING TO 9 PM MDT /10 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...South to Southwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to
  60 mph.

* WHERE...The entire Tri-State area.

* WHEN...From 9 AM MDT (10 AM CDT) through 9 PM MDT (10 AM CDT).

* IMPACTS...Winds of this magnitude may down trees, power lines,
  and damage property. High winds and areas of blowing dust will
  also create dangerous travel conditions.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside around trees and branches. If
possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the
windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
