This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...south
central...southwest and west central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Day 1 Discussion

There is a very conditional risk of severe weather this afternoon
and mainly evening. If the cap does break, than a severe
thunderstorm or two could be possible. The main threats would be
then very large hail up to 2 inches and 70 mph thunderstorm winds.
The cap also could not break, in which no storms would form.

* Thunderstorm wind damage: Limited risk
* Lightning: Limited risk
* Excessive heat: Elevated risk
* Non-thunderstorm wind: Limited risk
* Fire weather: Elevated risk

A chance of severe thunderstorms may be possible Thursday, however,
it is too early to determine specifics. A higher heat related concern
is expected through the end of the business week and into the
weekend.
