This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Marginal hail risk.
  Marginal thunderstorm wind damage risk.
  Limited lightning risk.
  Limited excessive rainfall risk

DISCUSSION...

Scattered bands of thunderstorms will continue to slowly move
south through the area early this morning and should push south of
the area by the mid mornings. A few strong storms will be possible
with hail up to the size of quarters, wind gusts up to 50 mph, and
heavy rainfall and localized flooding the main risks.

Scattered shower and thunderstorm chances (20 to 40 percent) will
occur again this afternoon and evening. A few strong storms with
hail and gusty winds will be possible with this activity mainly
along and south of I-44.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Additional thunderstorm chances return this weekend into early
next week. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible depending on
the exact track of the system.

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kansas, including the following
  counties, Bourbon and Crawford.

* WHEN...Until 645 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1248 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Fort Scott, Arcadia, Uniontown, Walnut, Hepler, Hiattville,
    Pawnee Station, Farlington, Petersburg, Porterville and
    Garland.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
