This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Seasonably warm temperatures, gusty winds, and low humidity values
will support widespread very high grassfire danger into the early
evening, with extreme grassfire danger possible over southeast
Kansas, where a Red Flag Warning has been issued. Please be mindful
of anything that can cause a spark.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Very high grassfire danger is forecast areawide Saturday and
Sunday, as gusty winds overlap with low humidity. Pockets of very
high grassfire danger are possible again on Thursday.

There is a chance for thunderstorms Saturday evening and night
across eastern Kansas, mainly along and east of the Flint Hills. A
few storms may be strong to marginally severe, capable of dime to
quarter size hail.

Shower and thunderstorm chances could increase by Wednesday night
and Thursday across the region. Uncertainty remains high
surrounding these chances, so stay tuned for later forecasts.

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO
7 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR EXTREME GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER FOR
SOUTHEAST KANSAS...

* Very High to Extreme Grassland Fire Danger is forecast.

* Winds...West to southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40
  mph.

* Relative Humidity...As low as 18 percent.

* Impacts...Any fires that develop will have the potential to
  spread rapidly.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this fire weather product.
