Flood Statement
National Weather Service Paducah Kentucky
1153 AM CST Tue Feb 18 2020

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...Kentucky...Missouri...

  Ohio River at Smithland Dam...Paducah...Olmsted Lock and Dam
  and Cairo

.River levels from Smithland Dam to Cairo are cresting or
near crest at this time. Minor to moderate flooding is
occurring or forecast to develop at locations except Olmsted Dam,
which is experiencing major flooding. Extended crests are expected due
to high volume water releases from the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers.
Water levels will remain above flood stage for these locations through
most of the remainder of February.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Ohio River at Olmsted Lock and Dam
* until further notice.
* At 11:00 AM Tuesday the stage was 47.6 feet.
* Flood Stage is 36.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to rise and crest near
  47.9 feet by after midnight tomorrow. Little change in water
  level is expected through the weekend, remaining above
  flood stage through the end of the month of February.

* until further notice.
* At 11:00 AM Tuesday the stage was 51.1 feet.
* Flood Stage is 40.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The River is cresting at this time and will remain near
  51.1 feet through Friday with a slow fall thereafter.  The river
  is expected to remain above flood stage for the remainder of February.
* Impact...At 50.0 Feet...The first gate is closed at Cairo.
