This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

There is a risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and
evening. Damaging winds, large hail, and perhaps a brief tornado
are the primary hazards. Locally heavy rain could cause isolated
flooding issues as well.

A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect for most of the region from late
this morning through early this evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Dangerous, prolonged heat and humidity arrive Saturday and will
continue through at least Tuesday. Daily peak heat index values of
100 to 107 degrees are forecast with only limited relief at
night.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will likely be need this afternoon and this
evening.

* WHAT...Southwest winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph
  expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
  Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From 11 AM CDT /noon EDT/ this morning to 7 PM CDT /8 PM
  EDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create
  hazardous conditions for small craft.
