Please see the Extreme Heat Warning for details. Scattered thunderstorms will be possible throughout the Quad State this afternoon and evening. Lightning, locally heavy rainfall, and gusty winds will be the primary concerns. However, a few severe storms with damaging winds cannot be ruled out over the Evansville Tri State and the Pennyrile Region of west Kentucky. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Heat index values may reach 100 to 105 on Sunday over portions of southeast Missouri, especially near the Current River. The extreme heat, low humidity, and rapidly drying vegetation may result in increased fire starts through the holiday weekend and into next week.
