The combination of low relative humidity and gusty winds will create an increased risk for fire start and spread this afternoon and evening. Today, we can expect relative humidity values as low as 20 to 30 percent, along with southeasterly to southerly winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts of 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Any ignition source may quickly get out of control given the gusty winds. For your safety and the safety of others, you are urged to avoid outdoor burning. The Spring fire season for Kentucky runs from February 15th through April 30th. During this time...it is illegal to burn anything within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm. $$
