While the areas of measurable rain and freezing rain has exited the region, area roadways, bridges, and overpasses remain wet following the precipitation that fell Tuesday night and early this morning. As the much colder, subfreezing air continues to spill south into the region today, some patchy ice may develop on bridges and overpasses, as well as some roadways, and linger through the morning until the gusty north winds are able to dry out these surfaces. In addition, patchy areas of light snow flurries and light freezing drizzle, have also developed across portions of East Texas, Southwest Arkansas, and North Louisiana, and will remain possible this morning before ending. Little if any ice accumulation is expected, but motorists are urged to slow down and allow for extra travel time this morning for the potential for patchy ice development on these road and other elevated surfaces. $$ 15
