This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Louisiana, northwest Louisiana, east Texas and northeast Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight...

A Heat Advisory is in effect for the region today. Look for
maximum afternoon heat index values to meet or exceed 105 degrees.
Isolated thunderstorms will be possible for portions of the
region, especially during the afternoon hours. A strong
thunderstorm cannot be ruled out, but a severe thunderstorm is
very unlikely at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday...

Thunderstorms chances will begin increasing for portions of the
region by the end of the upcoming work week and especially into
the weekend. At this time, nothing storms that may impact the
region late in the forecast do not appear significant at this
time.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Activation of emergency management personnel...amateur radio
operators...and storm spotters will not be needed through tonight.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM CDT THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Heat index values between 105 and 109 degrees expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northwest Louisiana and
  lower east Texas.

* WHEN...From noon today to 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses to occur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on elderly relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
