The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Cameron Parish in southwestern Louisiana...
  Western Calcasieu Parish in southwestern Louisiana...
  Jefferson County in southeastern Texas...
  Southwestern Newton County in southeastern Texas...
  Southeastern Hardin County in southeastern Texas...
  Orange County in southeastern Texas...
  Southeastern Jasper County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 1145 AM CDT.

* At 843 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. 25 to
  45 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is expected to
  continue or become worse across warned areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, Nederland, Groves, Port Neches,
  Lumberton, Vidor, Bridge City, Silsbee, West Orange, Vinton, Sour
  Lake, Nome, Deweyville, Evadale, Central Gardens, Sabine Pass,
  Johnsons Bayou and Hamshire.

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Louisiana, south
central Louisiana, southwest Louisiana and west central Louisiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

A few thunderstorms producing locally heavy down pours and occasional
cloud to ground lightning can be expected until sunset.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.


Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
