...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EDT
THIS EVENING...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for eastern Massachusetts,
northeastern Massachusetts, southeastern Massachusetts and southern
Rhode Island.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the
Internet for more information about the following hazards.

   High Surf Advisory.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Additional High surf advisories will likely be needed along ocean
exposed east facing beaches this weekend through early next week.

Minor coastal flooding and minor beach erosion will be possible at
times this weekend and early next week along the eastern
Massachusetts coast, Cape Cod and the Islands. Coastal Flood
Advisories might be needed.

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 5 to 9 feet expected in the
  surf zone.

* WHERE...In Massachusetts, Eastern Essex MA, Eastern Norfolk
  MA, Eastern Plymouth MA, Barnstable MA, Dukes MA and Nantucket
  MA Counties. In Rhode Island, Block Island RI County.

* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
  localized beach erosion.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.
