The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Baltimore County in northern Maryland...
  Northeastern Baltimore City in northern Maryland...

* Until 1000 PM EDT.

* At 646 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.


  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Baltimore...                       Dundalk...
  Towson...                          Parkville...
  Rosedale...                        Loch Raven Village...


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Basement flooding can occur quickly and create a life-threatening
situation. If you are in a basement, or a residence below street
level, move to a higher floor immediately.

A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of northern and central
Virginia into the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia and Virginia.
Scattered instances of flooding or flash flooding are possible.

Isolated instances of damaging wind gusts are possible this
afternoon and evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.


Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon and evening.
