* WHAT...South winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 to 50 mph.

* WHERE...DC, and portions of central, north central, northern, and
  western Maryland, central, northern, northwest, and western
  Virginia, and eastern and panhandle West Virginia.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms capable of producing
damaging wind gusts are possible this afternoon. A tornado or two
is also possible.

Special Marine Warnings may be needed for strong winds associated
with showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM this evening across
all areas. Elsewhere, gusty winds to around 45 mph are possible
outside of thunderstorms today, which may result in a few downed
trees, branches, and power lines.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Around one foot of inundation above ground level in low
  lying areas due to tidal flooding.

* WHERE...Shoreline in Anne Arundel County.

* WHEN...Until 11 PM EDT this evening, especially around the
  time of high tide.

* IMPACTS...At 2.6 feet, water may begin to pond in the parking
  lot at Annapolis City Dock, and surround the Alex Haley
  Memorial.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides one and a half to two feet above
  normal. The next high tide at Annapolis U.S. Naval Academy is at
  7:41 PM and 8:05 AM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
