This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

High Wind Warnings are in effect for much of the area through 10
PM this evening, except for the Fredericksburg area which is in a
Wind Advisory.

Storm Warnings are in effect through this evening, with Gale
Warnings in effect overnight. A sudden onset of storm conditions
is possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Gusty winds may linger through Monday.

There is an enhanced winter storm threat Wednesday night through
Thursday night. There is an increased potential for significant
travel impacts and closures, if this threat materializes.

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 10
PM EST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph expected.

* WHERE...DC, portions of central, northeast, northern, and southern
  Maryland, and northern Virginia.

* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 10 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially
  for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest wind gusts are expected from
  mid afternoon through mid evening. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph may
  linger at times through Monday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.
