...FLOOD ADVISORY FOR AN ICE JAM NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT
THURSDAY...

* WHAT...A 2 mile long ice jam persists on the Aroostook River at
  the bend near Castle Hill and Wade.

* WHERE...A portion of Northern Maine, including the following
  county, Aroostook.

* WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...The low water crossing at Gardner Creek is impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 942 PM EDT, emergency management reported ice jam flooding
    near the advisory area. Minor flooding is occurring upstream
    of the Gardner Creek along the Aroostook River.
  - Camps are flooded upstream of Gardner Creek on the private
    camp road.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Wade and Castle Hill along the Aroostook River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Water levels can rise and fall quickly in the vicinity of ice jams.
Those with interests along rivers and tributary streams should be
alert for rapidly fluctuating water levels in the vicinity of ice
jams. Never drive through flooded roads or around closed road
barricades. The barricades are there for your safety due to the
potential for ice jam releases or continued flooding.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Central Highlands Maine, Far
Eastern Maine, Far Northern Maine, North Woods Maine and Penobscot
Valley Maine.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Localized ice jam flooding is possible today and tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Late Sunday into Monday, there will likely be snow changing to
freezing rain, then changing to rain. There is not enough confidence
yet to talk about potential accumulations, but those with travel
plans should watch the forecast closely for future updates.

Localized ice jam flooding will remain possible through early next
week.
