...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
FRIDAY AFTERNOON...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Central Highlands Maine, Far
Eastern Maine, Far Northern Maine, North Woods Maine and Penobscot
Valley Maine.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Internet for more information about the following hazards.

   Winter Storm Watch.

Snow melt and mild daytime temperatures into the mid week will lead
to rises on rivers and streams with the potential for ice movement
and jams for mostly northern and central river basins. Some smaller
streams could reach near bankfull with lowlands seeing some high
water.

Weather spotters are encouraged to report significant weather
conditions according to Standard Operating Procedures.

The National Weather Service in Caribou Maine has issued a

* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for...
  An Ice Jam in...
  Eastern Aroostook County in northern Maine...

* Until 730 AM EDT Wednesday.

* At 731 PM EDT, the public reported an ice jam causing minor
  flooding in the Crouseville area. Water is covering portions of
  Route 164 in the Rum Rapids area of Crouseville. Overflowing poor
  drainage areas will result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
FRIDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Heavy wet snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 7
  to 10 inches possible.

* WHERE...Northwest Aroostook and Northeast Aroostook Counties.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Heavy
  wet snow and strong winds could produce scattered power
  outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue
to monitor the latest forecasts.

The National Weather Service in Caribou Maine has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  An Ice Jam in...
  East central Aroostook County in northern Maine...

* Until 400 AM EDT Wednesday.

* At 4 PM EDT, an ice jam was continuing to result in minor flooding
  at the North Caribou and Grimes Road. Local Fort Fairfield town
  officials reported that the road remains closed due to water
  crossing the road. Fort Fairfield Police Department also reports
  the Boat Landing near Riverside Ave is beginning to see water
  approach the area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
