...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Heavy wet snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 8 to
  12 inches possible with higher amounts possible, especially
  across the higher terrain.

* WHERE...Aroostook, Piscataquis, Northern Somerset and Northern
  and Central Penobscot Counties.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be extremely hazardous with
  heavy snow and blowing snow. The hazardous conditions could
  impact the morning commute on Friday. Some power outages are
  possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue
to monitor the latest forecasts.

The National Weather Service in Caribou Maine has extended the

* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for...
  An Ice Jam in...
  Eastern Aroostook County in northern Maine...

* Until 730 PM EDT Wednesday.

* At 705 AM EDT, an ice jam was causing minor flooding in the
  Crouseville area with water covering portions of Route 164 near
  Rum Rapids. Overflowing poor drainage areas will also result in
  minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The National Weather Service in Caribou Maine has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  An Ice Jam in...
  Eastern Aroostook County in northern Maine...

* Until 700 AM EDT Thursday.

* At 700 AM EDT, an ice jam was continuing to cause minor flooding
  at the Grimes Road near the Caribou and Fort Fairfield town line.
  Local Fort Fairfield town officials reported that the road remains
  closed due to water crossing the road. Fort Fairfield Police
  Department reported the Boat Landing near Riverside Ave had water
  spilling into the area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Caribou and Fort Fairfield.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Central Highlands Maine, Far
Eastern Maine, Far Northern Maine, North Woods Maine and Penobscot
Valley Maine.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Snow melt and milder temperatures today will lead to rises on rivers
and streams. Ice movement is expected with some jamming expected
across northern river basins. Some smaller streams could reach near
bankfull with lowlands seeing some high water.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
