This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Central Highlands Maine, Far
Eastern Maine, Far Northern Maine, North Woods Maine and Penobscot
Valley Maine.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Falling temperatures will bring a threat icy travel conditions this
evening and overnight, with the icy conditions developing from north
to south. Light snow up to an inch is also possible as temperatures
fall to around and below freezing.

Rain will persist into tonight, mixing with or changing to snow
before ending overnight. The recent warmth and rainfall has led to
rising rivers, which is leading to the break-up of thinning river
ice. River levels will continue to rise over the next few days,
even though temperatures will drop some and the precipitation will
come to an end tonight. Localized ice jam flooding is possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

An ice jam threat will persist this week.

...Icy Roads Developing Tonight in Northern Maine...

Roads remain wet, and falling temperatures behind a cold front
will cause wet roads to freeze, first in the Saint John Valley
early to mid evening. The threat of icy roads develops around
Presque Isle and Greenville roughly around midnight, and then
toward Houlton and Millinocket after midnight. Light snow up to an
inch could also occur as temperatures fall to around freezing.
