Gusty winds 40-45 mph today will produce blowing snow across the
agricultural open areas of Aroostook and Northern Penobscot
Counties. Be prepared for localized whiteouts with near zero
visibility creating extremely dangerous driving conditions.

...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM
EST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 33 below expected.

* WHERE...Central Piscataquis, Northeast Aroostook, Northwest
  Aroostook, Northern Piscataquis, and Northern Somerset Counties.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 9 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 33 below zero
  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
  Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is
  exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches.
  Total snow accumulations between 10 and 20 inches. Winds gusting
  as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of Central Highlands, Far Eastern, Far Northern,
  and North Woods Maine

* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of
  blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
  conditions will impact the Monday morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The worst of the blowing snow will be across
  the agricultural open areas of Aroostook and Northern Penobscot
  Counties on Monday. Be prepared for localized whiteouts with near
  zero visibility creating extremely dangerous driving conditions.
  Potentially impacted roads include but not limited to...Routes 1,
  1A, 2, 10, 11, 89, 161, 163, 167 and 212.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel extremely dangerous. If you must travel,
keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of
an emergency.
