This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Upper
Michigan and western Upper Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

There is a Slight Risk (level 2 of 5) for severe thunderstorms
and a Slight Risk (level 2 of 5) for flash flooding across
northern and western Upper Michigan today with Marginal Risks
(level 1 of 5) of both hazards for the rest of the UP.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Thunderstorm chances will continue through Wednesday night.

At 940 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These
thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Brockway
Mountain to 8 nm southwest of The Lower Entrance of Portage Canal to
44 nm southwest of The Upper Entrance of Portage Canal, moving east
at 30 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.

These strong thunderstorms will likely produce winds to around 30
knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine
warning may eventually be required when these strong thunderstorms
reaches the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for
shore before these strong thunderstorms arrives.
