.Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms this afternoon and into this
evening has led to localized areas of 2 to 4 inches of rainfall,
leading to saturated soils in places. Additional showers and storms
with torrential rainfall will be possible later this evening into
tonight, which may lead to an additional 2 to 4 inches of rainfall
in some areas. This could lead to instances of flooding tonight,
with particular emphasis on poor draining / urban areas and low
spots.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Additional torrential rainfall potential over areas that
  already saw heavy rainfall this afternoon. Localized additional
  rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches possible by Thursday morning.

* WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan, including the
  following counties, Alcona, Arenac, Crawford, Gladwin, Iosco,
  Kalkaska, Manistee, Missaukee, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Roscommon and
  Wexford.

* WHEN...Through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Any flooding will occur easiest and quickly in poor drainage and
  urban areas.

This hazardous weather outlook is for Eastern Upper Michigan and
Northern Lower Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Multiple rounds of showers and storms will continue through
tonight. Rainfall totals of 0.5" to 1.5" are expected for many
areas of northern lower, with 4" or more possible across localized
areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Dangerous swimming conditions are expected along Lake Michigan
beaches south of Little Traverse Bay Thursday due to high waves of
4 to 6 feet and rip currents.

* WHEN...From Thursday morning through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water
  and high waves can sweep people off piers.

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
