...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE
TONIGHT...

* WHAT...High wave action, strong currents, and dangerous
  swimming conditions expected. Piers may be heavily swamped by
  waves.

* WHERE...Mason, Oceana, Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren and Muskegon
  counties.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water
  and high waves can sweep people off piers.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Beaches adjacent to north piers will be
  very dangerous places to swim today. These beaches include...
  Stearns Park in Ludington...Mears State Park in Pentwater...
  Holland State Park and North Beach in South Haven. The worst
  conditions will be south of Holland this evening where waves
  could be greater than 6 feet.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions
and do not venture out on piers. Please check with your local
authorities on potential beach closures.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of southwest Lower
Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Swimming at Lake Michigan beaches will be dangerous today and
tonight due to large waves and strong currents.

A few thunderstorms may develop today, mainly during the afternoon
and early evening. These storms are not expected to be severe, but
small hail will be possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed.
