* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Kent County in southwestern Michigan...
  Northwestern Ionia County in south central Michigan...

* Until 430 PM EDT.

* At 344 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles east of
  Rockford, or 9 miles southwest of Greenville, moving southeast at
  15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of southwest Lower
Michigan.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Heat indices will rise to the mid 90s this afternoon south of I-96.
This will create the potential for heat related illnesses.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected today. An isolated severe
thunderstorm is possible. Damaging winds is the primary risk.
Locally heavy rainfall is possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Prolonged impacts of heat and humidity will increase the potential
for heat related illnesses through Saturday.

Thunderstorms are possible Friday through Sunday. Thunderstorms
Saturday night could be widespread with a few strong storms
possible north of I-96.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
