Potential for lake effect snow showers through tonight, particularly between M 59 and I 94. Accumulation from a dusting to locally up to 2 inches possible. Strong westerly winds through the evening will contribute to some blowing of snow. Dangerously cold wind chills will reach -10 to -15F into Tuesday morning. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday Winter Weather Advisory continues through Tuesday morning for wind chill values -5 to -15F and possible lake effect snow. Another round of accumulating snow on Wednesday, impacting the AM commute. Arctic air returns Friday and remains across the area through the weekend. Potential for additional accumulation from a dusting to locally 2 inches thru Tuesday morning. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan. * WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Potential for slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes. The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. You can obtain the latest road conditions from the MDOT Michigan Drive Map. Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat will keep you from losing your body heat. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
