This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of southwest Lower
Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Scattered thunderstorms are possible today, most numerous this
afternoon and evening. Severe weather is not expected. Storms will
be capable of locally heavy rain and cloud to ground lightning
strikes.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Thunderstorms are in the forecast from Saturday through Monday.
Strong storms will be possible during this time frame.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed.

...The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids MI has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Michigan...

  Red Cedar River At East Lansing affecting Ingham County.

.2 To 4 inches of rain, with localized rain amounts close to 7
inches, fell across Southern Lower Michigan associated with
the remnants of former Hurricane Beryl. Additional rain amounts up
to 1 inch fell yesterday. As this water moves into and through the
river systems several locations will experience minor flooding over
the next few days.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Red Cedar River at East Lansing.

* WHEN...From late tonight to Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Expect minor flooding of low lying areas,
  adjacent parks, and farmland.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:30 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 6.3 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 6.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    just after midnight tonight to a crest of 7.1 feet tomorrow
    morning. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    7.1 feet on 04/02/1933.

  sections of East Mt. Hope Road.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:00 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 8.6 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 6.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:00 AM EDT Thursday was 8.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late this evening and continue falling to 4.6 feet Thursday,
    July 18.
  - Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    8.7 feet on 02/18/2022.
