River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 745 AM CDT Tuesday, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms which occurred overnight. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. No severe weather is expected with the storms this morning. Thunderstorms are expected once again this evening, affecting areas from the Brainerd Lakes east through the Interstate 35 corridor and northwest Wisconsin. A few storms may be strong to severe, capable of producing hail up to one and a half inches and damaging winds. Heavy rainfall may lead to ponding or localized flash flooding. Wildfire smoke will linger today and tonight. The Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to reach the Red or Unhealthy category. * WHERE...Northeast Minnesota. * WHEN...Until 11 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Some members of the general public may experience health effects. Sensitive groups, such as people with lung disease (including asthma), heart disease, and children and older adults, may experience health effects. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light winds will allow existing wildfire smoke across northern Minnesota to linger into this evening and overnight. Concentrations are expected to be highest along and near the shores of Lake Superior. An additional round of heavy surface smoke from wildfires across southern Canada is expected to transport into northern Minnesota on Tuesday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
