This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Rain and freezing rain develop this afternoon. Heavy mixed
precipitation and snow spread across the Northland tonight with
significant snow and ice accumulations are expected for much of
northeast Minnesota, especially the Arrowhead.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

A major winter storm continues through Thursday morning. Blizzard
conditions with dangerous travel will impact the North Shore,
while heavy snow and ice affect the rest of the region.

A second system brings another round of snow late Thursday night
into Saturday morning.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Snow spotters are requested to report precipitation type, and
measurements of snow or ice accumulations tonight to the National
Weather Service. Spotters and the public can also report
precipitation type with the free M-PING smartphone app.

...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO
MIDNIGHT CST WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and
  9 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Koochiching, North Itasca, and North St. Louis Counties.
  This includes the Tribal Lands of the Bois Forte Band, Deer Creek
  and, Nett Lake areas. Other locations including Voyageurs National
  Park. This also includes the Boundary Waters western area.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to midnight CST Wednesday Night.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
  could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.
