...EXTREME COLD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 to 60 below.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northwest, and west
  central Minnesota and northeast and southeast North Dakota.

* WHEN...Until noon CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 60 below zero
  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There will be a period of improvement during
  the afternoon today when wind chills will range from -25 to -35
  before dropping again this evening. The coldest values will be in
  the morning hours today and Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
