This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Heavy rain has fallen across much of northwest Wisconsin and along
parts of the North Shore. Flood advisories and flash flood
warnings are in effect through this evening. Additional rainfall
amounts up to one inch are expected for parts of northwest
Wisconsin.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible for parts of northwest
Wisconsin, mainly in Price county, until about 10 PM. Wind gusts
up to 60 mph are the main threat.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Strong northeast winds will increase the threat of rip currents
Wednesday for areas near the Twin Ports, including the beaches of
Duluth and Superior. A Beach Hazards Statement may be needed.

Additional thunderstorm chances are forecast through the end of
the week.

SKYWARN spotters are encouraged to report hail of any size, wind
damage, rainfall amounts, and flooding to the National Weather

...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Carlton and St. Louis Counties and
  Wisconsin, Douglas County.

* WHEN...Until 1045 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or
  other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 942 PM CDT Tuesday, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due
    to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring in
    Cloquet. Between 0.75 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Duluth, Superior, Cloquet, Hermantown, Proctor, Moose Lake,
    Scanlon, Carlton, Mahtowa, Barnum, Wrenshall, Oliver,
    Cromwell, Kettle River, Thomson, Fond Du Lac Band Cloquet
    Area, Jay Cooke State Park, Fond Du Lac Band Sawyer Area,
    Fond Du Lac Band Brookston Area and Pike Lake Near Duluth.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather
Service at 1-800-685-8612.

  - At 736 PM CDT Tuesday, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due
    to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to
    begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Two Harbors, Silver Bay, Beaver Bay, Thomas Lake Near
    Brimson, Highland Lake, Castle Danger, Gooseberry Falls State
    Park, Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, Split Rock
    Lighthouse, Brimson, Tettegouche State Park, Finland, Illgen
    City, Little Marais, George Manitou State Park, Island Lake,
    Alger, Wales and Pequaywan Lake.
