...NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY FOR PORTIONS OF
NORTHEAST MINNESOTA...

Dry conditions and breezy winds will lead to near critical fire
weather conditions today. Minimum relative humidity values of 15
to 25 percent are forecast for today. These conditions could lead
to the rapid spread of fires. Check burning restrictions and fire
danger before burning.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A low pressure system will bring widespread wintry mix and then
accumulating snow to the Northland beginning late tonight. The
highest probabilities and snow totals are north of US-2. Freezing
rain is also possible briefly early Sunday morning which would
produce a layer of ice under the snow. Roads will likely become
snow covered and slippery for areas receiving snow. Winter Storm
Warnings and Advisories are in effect for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Widespread accumulating snow will continue through Monday
morning. There is greater than 30 percent chance of at least 4
inches of snow within the advisory, as well as a 50 to 80 percent
chance of more than 8 inches of snow within the winter storm
warning. A wintry mix is also possible during the day Sunday.
Roads will likely become snow covered and slippery for areas
receiving snow. Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories will remain
in effect for portions of northeast Minnesota and northwest
Wisconsin through Monday morning.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM SUNDAY TO 7 AM CDT
MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations
  between 4 and 13 inches along the North Shore and ice
  accumulations around a light glaze.

* WHERE...Southern Cook and Southern Lake Counties. This includes
  the Tribal Lands of the Grand Portage Reservation.

* WHEN...From 3 AM Sunday to 7 AM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
  could impact the Monday morning commute.
