This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Wind chills of 35 to 50 below zero degree are ongoing this
morning, and are expected again tonight. An Extreme Cold Warning
remains in effect.

Light lake effect snowfall is expected to produce 2 to 4 inches
of snow for the Bayfield Peninsula today and tonight. Lighter
amounts are expected for northern Iron, Ashland and Douglas
counties.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Dangerous wind chills and very cold temperatures persist through
Tuesday morning. Extreme Cold Warnings continue until noon
Tuesday.

...EXTREME COLD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 50 below zero.

* WHERE...Crow Wing, Aitkin, Koochiching, Cass, Itasca, Carlton, St.
  Louis, Pine, Cook, and Lake Counties. This includes the Tribal
  Lands of the Fond du Lac Band, the Grand Portage Reservation, the
  Mille Lacs Band, Hinckley, Lena Lake, East Lake and, Big Sandy
  Lake areas and the Bois Forte Band, Lake Vermilion, Nett Lake and,
  Deer Creek areas. Other locations including Voyageurs National
  Park. The entire Boundary Waters is also included.

* WHEN...Until noon CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 50 below zero
  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
  Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is
  exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of very cold
  temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves or mittens if
you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
