...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY FOR MUCH OF CENTRAL AND
SOUTHERN MINNESOTA...

A cold front will bring in much drier air by this afternoon while
highs are expected to climb into the lower 90s. This will result
in relative humidity values dropping to between 15 and 25
percent, generally along and north of the US-212 corridor in
Minnesota. With these low humidities, northwest winds of 10-15 mph
with gusts of 20-25 mph are expected. These winds, combined very
low relative humidities will result in elevated fire weather
conditions this afternoon.

The combination of low relative humidity, warm temperatures and
generally dry fuels can contribute to dangerous burning
conditions. Burning outdoors is not advised on Saturday. Dispose
of any cigarettes responsibly. Refer to fire officials for any
outdoor burning restrictions.
