...EXTREME COLD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO
10 AM CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low
  as 34 below. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind
  chills as low as 42 below expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central, south central, and southeast
  Minnesota and northwest and west central Wisconsin.

* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 10 AM CST this
  morning. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 9 PM this evening to
  10 AM CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 below zero
  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central and
southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Dangerously cold air will move in tonight. Wind chills of 35 to
45 below are expected through 10am. An Extreme Cold Warning is in
effect except in southern to eastern Minnesota and western
Wisconsin where a Cold Weather Advisory is in effect.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Dangerously cold conditions will continue each morning through
Wednesday. Wind chill values are expected to drop to 35 to 45
degrees below zero. An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect late
tonight into Tuesday morning.
