CST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills
  as low as 42 below. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind
  chills as low as 34 below expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central, south central, and southeast
  Minnesota and northwest and west central Wisconsin.

* WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, until 10 AM CST this morning.
  For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 9 PM this evening to 9 AM CST
  Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 below zero
  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central and
southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Dangerous cold expected tonight. Wind chills will drop to 45
degrees below zero, with the coldest values expected across
western Minnesota. An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for the
entire area overnight into Tuesday morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Bitter cold continues through the middle of the week, with
another round of wind chills between 35 to 45 degrees below zero
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. An Extreme Cold Watch has
been issued across western Minnesota, where confidence in wind
chills falling to warning criteria is the highest.
