This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southwest Minnesota.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the Minnesota Pollution
Control Agency for southwest Minnesota as smoke is expected to
overspread the area this evening. Smoke particles may be hazardous
for those with pre-existing health conditions.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop along a settling
front later this afternoon, south of highway-14. Storms may begin to
form around 3pm and will continue to move southeast through the
evening. While severe weather is not anticipated with this activity,
a few thunderstorms may produce 50 mph winds and small hail. Any
thunderstorm activity will quickly weaken by sunset.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Wildfire smoke will linger into the daytime hours of Monday. In
addition to hazy skies, there is a low potential for air quality
impacts through the day.

Additional thunderstorm activity is anticipated late Tuesday
through Wednesday. At this time, the risk for severe storms
remains low.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
