...SECOND ROUND OF SNOW MOVES IN FOR THE MORNING...

.Snow has exited east of the region for this evening allowing for a
brief lull in snowfall for the overnight with only intermittent
light snow expected for the next few hours. Overall, most locations
have reported anywhere from 1 to 3 inches thus far. As we head
towards daybreak, more accumulating snow will develop across the
area with additional amounts of 1 to 4 inches near and south of
Interstate 90 and lesser amounts further north. Motorists will want
to check the weather conditions before heading out Saturday morning
and slow down when encountering snow covered roads.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southeast
Minnesota...northeast Iowa and southwest into central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

A round of snow will affect the area through tonight with amounts
from 2 to 6 inches. The lighter amounts will be favored across
parts of southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa, with the higher
amounts favored over parts of west central Wisconsin. Some
blowing and drifting snow will also occur with wind gusts of 20 to
35 mph. A winter weather advisory is in effect.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

More snow is forecast for Saturday with 1-3" likely south of
Interstate 90. However, these amounts still could change.

A dangerous period of cold is expected from Sunday through
Thursday. Morning wind chills will range from 20 to 40 below
zero.
