This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern and
central Missouri as well as west central and southwest Illinois.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

There is a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight,
especially across northeast and central Missouri into west central
Illinois where a few strong to severe storms are possible. Large
hail and damaging winds will be the primary severe weather threat.

Major river flooding is ongoing along parts of the Missouri,
Mississippi, and Illinois Rivers.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Major river flooding is expected over the next week along the
Mississippi, Missouri, and Illinois Rivers.

The chance for thunderstorms will continue from Saturday through
Wednesday across parts of the area. A few strong to severe storms are
possible Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed late this afternoon and tonight
across parts of central and northeast Missouri and west central
Illinois.

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in Missouri...

  Missouri River at Jefferson City

  Missouri River near Chamois

  Missouri River at Gasconade

  Missouri River at Hermann

  Missouri River at Washington

  Missouri River at St. Charles

  Osage River near Mari-Osa Campground

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted.  The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions or forecasts change.

Safety message:  Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles
through flooded areas.  The water may be too deep to allow for safe
passage.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Missouri River at Jefferson City
* until further notice.
* At  8:45 PM Thursday the stage was 31.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 31.5 feet by Friday early
  afternoon.
* Impact:  At 32.0 feet...Highway 179 at Marion, west of Jefferson
  City, floods.  In downtown Jefferson City, Missouri Boulevard,
  Geneva Street, Broadway Street, and West Dunklin Street all begin
  flooding.  Also, this represents the protection level of the levee
  protecting Hartsburg, MO and the Rievaux levee just west of
  Wainwright.

  the Osage River near Mari-Osa Campground
* until further notice.
* At  7:15 AM Thursday the stage was 26.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to continue rising to near 26.5 feet by
  early Friday morning. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact:  At 27.0 feet...Numerous campsites, garages, and sheds on
  both sides of the river become flooded near this height.
