This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited lightning risk.
  Elevated fire weather risk.


There is a 20 to 40 percent chance for a few showers and
thunderstorms this afternoon along and southeast of a Branson to
West Plains to Alton Missouri line. No severe weather is expected
at this time.

Northerly winds of 20 to 30 mph will develop this afternoon west
of Springfield. A localized fire weather risk will develop across
portions of southeastern Kansas and western Missouri this
afternoon where gusty winds and a drier air mass occur.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Warm temperatures, low humidity and gusty winds will create an
elevated fire danger Friday and again Sunday through Tuesday.

Thunderstorm chances return by late Tuesday into Wednesday of
next week. Any severe thunderstorm potential remains uncertain at
this time.


  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
