Weather hazards expected... Limited hail risk. Significant lightning risk. Elevated non thunderstorm wind risk. Elevated fire weather risk. DISCUSSION... Scattered thunderstorms will continue to push northeast across the Ozarks this evening. Some small hail will be possible with any stronger storms, however frequent lightning will be the primary potential hazard. Non thunderstorm southerly winds will gust up to 45 mph tonight along and west of the Highway 65 corridor. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Tuesday. Scattered severe thunderstorms will impact portions of the Missouri Ozarks Friday afternoon. Storms will exit the eastern Ozarks by early evening. There is an Enhanced Risk for severe storms east of the Highway 65 corridor with a Slight Risk for severe storms extending as far west as the Interstate 49 corridor. The primary potential hazards from the storms Friday afternoon will be hail to the size of golf balls and damaging wind gusts to 60 mph. There is a limited risk for a few tornadoes, mainly east of the Highway 65 corridor. Outside of thunderstorms, strong and gusty south to southwest winds will persist into Friday. Gusts of 45 to 60 mph will occur, with the strongest gusts occurring Friday afternoon near and west of the Interstate 49 corridor. The combination of the strong winds and rapidly falling humidity will lead to critical fire weather conditions across southeast Kansas and western Missouri Friday afternoon and evening, especially in grassy areas. Fires in these conditions will rapidly grow and spread. Another strong low pressure system will bring the potential for severe storms and flooding to the region next Tuesday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight. && More detailed information can be accessed at: http://www.weather.gov/sgf/dsspacket This product in graphical format...along with other weather... hydrological and climate information...at http://www.weather.gov/sgf $$ Lindenberg
