This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

 Significant frost and or freeze risk.
 Elevated fire weather risk.

DISCUSSION...

Breezy winds and a dry air mass will lead to elevated fire
weather conditions this evening over mainly woodland
regions.

Temperatures will fall into the upper 20s and lower 30s tonight
resulting in frost and a hard freeze, especially along and north
of a Neosho to Ava to Salem line.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Thunderstorms will be possible Saturday night into Sunday night
as a storm system approaches and then tracks through the area.

Below normal temperatures may result in additional potential for
frosts and freezes next week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.

...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 9 AM CDT
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 expected. Frost
  is also expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and central, east
  central, south central, southwest and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...From 2 AM to 9 AM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
  sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
  plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
