This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited hail risk.
  Limited thunderstorm wind damage risk.
  Elevated lightning risk.
  Elevated excessive heat risk.

DISCUSSION...

  Widely scattered thunderstorms will remain possible through
  tonight, especially across southeastern Kansas and southern
  Missouri. Initial thunderstorm development will likely be
  across south-central Missouri through mid-afternoon.
  Additional storms will then be possible from late this
  afternoon into tonight across the remainder of southern
  Missouri and southeastern Kansas.

  A few storms may produce hail up to the size of quarters and
  locally damaging wind gusts. Otherwise, the main potential
  hazards will be cloud to ground lightning and locally heavy
  rainfall.

  Afternoon heat index values in the middle 90s to around 100
  degrees can be expected across portions of southern Missouri
  and southeastern Kansas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

  Heat index values on Monday are expected to be from the upper
  90s to around 106. By Tuesday heat index values are expected
  from around 105 to 112 degrees.

  Scattered thunderstorm chances will return by the middle of
  this week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
