This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Scattered thunderstorms are likely today through tonight. There is a
risk for a few severe thunderstorms, capable of hail and strong
winds. Heavy rain may cause localized minor flooding as well.

Refer to the latest river flood warnings and statements for updated
river flooding details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Thunderstorms are expected on and off through much of the week.
Locally heavy rain is the primary hazard and may lead to localized
flooding. Each afternoon or evening, a strong storm is possible,
but perhaps Monday and Wednesday offer the best such chance.

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in
Kentucky...Missouri...Illinois...

  Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau...Thebes...New Madrid...

.Major flooding continues along the Mississippi River at Cape
Girardeau and Thebes. Minor flooding continues at New Madrid.
Water levels are falling slowly at all three locations. Major
flooding will continue at Cape Girardeau through the next week.
At Thebes, the river will fall into moderate flood stage Tuesday.
At New Madrid, the river is forecast to fall below flood stage on
Tuesday, June 25.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* At 11:00 AM Sunday the stage was 45.2 feet.
* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The River will continue to fall to a stage of 44.7 feet
  by tomorrow morning.
