This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast North Carolina,
central Virginia, east central Virginia, south central Virginia and
southeast Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Multiple rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms are possible today.
There is a Moderate Risk for severe weather. The primary threats
will come from damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and locally heavy
rainfall.

In addition, strong southerly winds will increase 15 to 25 mph with
gusts to 30 to 35 mph Friday morning through Friday evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Maryland,
  northeast North Carolina, and Virginia, including the
  following areas, in southeast Maryland, Dorchester, Inland
  Worcester, Maryland Beaches, Somerset, and Wicomico. In
  northeast North Carolina, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Eastern
  Currituck, Gates, Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank,
  Perquimans, and Western Currituck. In Virginia, Accomack,
  Amelia, Brunswick, Caroline, Charles City, Chesapeake,
  Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Eastern Chesterfield (Including Col.
  Heights), Eastern Essex, Eastern Hanover, Eastern Henrico,
  Eastern King William, Eastern King and Queen, Eastern Louisa,
  Fluvanna, Gloucester, Goochland, Greensville,
  Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, James City, Lancaster,
  Lunenburg, Mathews, Mecklenburg, Middlesex, New Kent, Newport

* From 1 PM EDT this afternoon through late tonight.

* Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected to
  overspread the region this afternoon, continue through this
  evening before departing late tonight. Repetitive storms and
  multiple rounds of heavy rain may result in rainfall amounts
  which could exceed 3 inches locally. Flash flooding is possible,
  particularly in urban areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
