...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH A HISTORY OF PRODUCING WIND
DAMAGE WILL MOVE INTO AND AFFECT WATAUGA AND ASHE COUNTIES...

At 1054 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms located along a
line extending from 10 miles southwest of Lebanon through 7 miles
north of Elizabethton to 8 miles southwest of Jonesborough. Movement
was east at 40 mph. These storms have a history of producing wind
damage, which may dictate an upgrade to a warning if it holds
strength as it approaches these counties.

Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph, heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning
strikes are possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Boone...
Jefferson...
West Jefferson...
Blowing Rock...
and Beech Mountain.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

northwest North Carolina, south central Virginia, southwest
Virginia, west central Virginia and southeast West Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

There is a low probability for widespread hazardous weather.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Isolated to widely scattered severe thunderstorms containing
damaging winds are possible Saturday afternoon and evening. Very
heavy rainfall that could result in localized flooding may also
occur.
