Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Flash flooding will be possible this afternoon and evening, mainly along and north and east of US-64 including the Triad, Triangle, Rocky Mount, Goldsboro, and Roanoke Rapids. Heavy rainfall in previous days has saturated the soils over a good portion of the region. Additional showers and thunderstorms this afternoon into the evening should produce areas of heavy rainfall. There is a marginal risk (level 1 of 4) of flash flooding this afternoon and evening. The main hazard is expected to be mostly urban and small stream flooding in slow moving showers and thunderstorms. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. There is a marginal to slight risk (level 1 to level 2) of flash flooding Sunday and Monday, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. The risk of flooding is higher over northern portions of NC. Additionally, there is a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) of severe thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening, mainly along and north of US-64. A few strong to locally damaging wind gusts are possible.
