This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central North Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Scattered thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall are expected
again this afternoon and evening. Isolated flash flooding is
possible. The areas most vulnerable are the Triad region east across
the northern Piedmont into portions of the Triangle Area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

The chance of widespread hazardous weather is low at this time.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Chatham County in central North Carolina...
  Southeastern Durham County in central North Carolina...
  West Central Wake County in central North Carolina...

* Until 830 AM EDT.

* At 637 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Cary, Pittsboro, RDU International, Apex, Morrisville, Carpenter,
  Jordan Lake, Parkwood, Crosswinds Campground, Crosswinds Boating
  Center, Research Triangle, Jordan Lake State Rec Area, Seaforth
  Boat Dock, Fearrington and William B Umstead State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

  following counties, Chatham, Durham and Wake.

* WHEN...Until 830 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 626 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
