Dry fuels, low relative humidity, and gusty winds later today will
result in an increased fire danger this afternoon through early
evening.

THROUGH EARLY EVENING...
...INCREASED FIRE DANGER FOR CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING...

The combination of low relative humidity of 20 to 30 percent,
wind gusts peaking at 20 to 30 mph, and dry fuels, will create a
risk of adverse fire behavior today over central North Carolina.
Similar conditions are also expected across central NC on
Wednesday. The risks will be highest during the afternoon through
early evening.

The North Carolina Forest Service has issued a statewide ban on
all open burning until further notice, and all burning permits
have been cancelled. Residents with questions can contact their
NC Forest Service county ranger or their county fire marshal`s
office.
