Also, another round of heavy rainfall is possible Wednesday evening
into Thursday morning as a slow-moving cold front enters the area.
Soils could become saturated in some areas by the earlier round of
rainfall, resulting in nuisance to minor stream flooding by Thursday

WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Freezing rain. Ice accumulations around one tenth of an
  inch. Locations across southern Mitchell and Yancey Counties, as
  well as the higher elevations of McDowell and Caldwell Counties
  could see around one quarter inch.

* WHERE...Portions of Piedmont and western North Carolina.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Icing may create slippery conditions on some roads,
  bridges and sidewalks. The hazardous conditions could impact the
  Tuesday evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The weight of the ice could lead to scattered
  power outages across southern Mitchell and Yancey Counties, as
  well as the higher elevations of McDowell and Caldwell Counties.
