This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for western North Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

In the wake of a cold frontal passage on Thursday, snow showers are
expected along the NC/TN Border region Thursday evening thru early
Friday. Any significant accumulations should be limited to the higher
peaks and ridges. In addition, winds will become gusty during the day
on Thursday and remain gusty thru Friday morning. If current trends
continue, a Wind Advisory may be needed.

On Saturday, the combination of low relative humidity, gusty winds,
and dry fuels will increase fire danger significantly. If current
trends continue, a Red Flag Warning may be needed.

FOR THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS...

* WHAT...Northwest winds from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph
  expected across the North Carolina mountains. The highest
  ridgetops could see gusts from 55 to 60 mph at times.

* WHERE...The North Carolina Mountains

* WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to 8 AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
